For the first time as your bishop, I come to you to ask for your help in what I believe is one of the most important things we can do as a Church: to hand on our faith to the next generation.

It reminds us that the root of our mission originates from the proclamation of Jesus to "Go Teach." Catholic Education is integral to carrying out the Mission of the Church. It is our foundation and our future.

I have set a bold, new goal of $8 million for this appeal. This increased funding will put $1 million directly into the hands of parents in the form of student tuition assistance, help our parishes with their growing religious education needs, and cover the costs of educating young men for the priesthood.

I cannot do this alone. Our families, our children,and our faith rely on your willingness to join me in reinforcing and echoing the message of "Go Teach."

Let's show the whole world that we are proud of our Catholic faith and want to hand it on.
